Be A Volunteer at Open Doors Baptist Church
A smile at the door, pouring a good cup of tea, picking up an instrument or helping those that do. We have plenty of teams that you can be part of.

1 Peter 4:10 (NIV):
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Every believer has a role to play in building up the body of Christ. Whether you enjoy being on the frontlines or serving behind the scenes, there’s a meaningful place for you here.

Serving isn’t about filling a gap—it’s about fulfilling a purpose. Through service, you will:

CURRENT MINISTRIES OPPORTUNITIES AT ODBC
1. Social Affairs Ministry
Creates opportunities for fellowship, outreach, and community support.
Serve by: organizing events, welcoming newcomers, coordinating food drives, supporting members in need, or fostering unity.
Romans 12:10 – “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
2. Hospitality Team
A frontline ministry that reflects Christ’s love through welcome and care.
Serve by: greeting guests, preparing refreshments, assisting events, or helping newcomers connect.
Matthew 25:35 – “I was a stranger and you invited me in.”

3. Tech & Media Team
We need volunteers to help ensure our services run smoothly and reach people both inside and outside the church. Roles include running slides, managing livestreams, mixing audio, and assisting with music production. Your skills can make a real difference in connecting others to Christ.

4. Children’s & Youth Ministry
Helps nurture the next generation in faith.
Serve by: teaching, leading worship, assisting with crafts/activities, or supporting youth events.
Note: All volunteers must complete a DBS check for child safety.

5. Worship Team
Do You Have a Talent?
We’d love for you to use your gifts to serve God and our church community! Whether you play piano, keyboard, guitar, drums, or any other instrument, sing, or have skills in tech and media, there’s a place for you to make a difference.

6. Ushering & Guest Services Team
Maintains order and creates a safe, welcoming environment during services.
Serve by: greeting, guiding seating, assisting with offering/communion, or helping with accessibility needs.
​
7. Cleaning & Setup Crew
Prepares the sanctuary for worship with excellence and care.
Serve by: setting up chairs, keeping the building clean, and ensuring a ready environment for worship.
​
8. Outreach & Evangelism Team
Takes the love of Christ into the community.
Serve by: food drives, prayer walks, evangelistic events, or supporting local partnerships.

9. Prayer & Intercessory Ministry
Stands in the gap for the church, community, and world.
Serve by: joining prayer gatherings, interceding for needs, and covering ministries in prayer.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 – “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession… be made for all people.”
